About Dr. Dooriddle

John Doolittle is an Emeritus Professor of Educational Psychology at California State University, Sacramento, where he taught for 40 years in the Departments of Psychology, Computer Science, and Teacher Education. For 12 summers, John taught diagnostic skills to minority pre-med students at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine as part of a federal grant program. John’s research in the teaching of thinking skills is summarized in an article, “Using Riddles and Interactive Computer Games to Teach Problem-Solving Skills” in TEACHING OF PSYCHOLOGY, a journal of the American Psychological Association. This article has been reprinted in a handbook for teachers. John’s research has generated a variety of teaching materials, including the popular DR. DOORIDDLES series for the Critical Thinking Company. John enjoys composing music and lyrics and takes great satisfaction in how well the Musical Plays have been received by parents and students.

Judith Doolittle is a retired elementary school teacher. She staged her husband’s plays in eighteen of her twenty years as an educator. “I take great satisfaction thinking about how much my students enjoyed and learned from the plays and that so many came back to tell me that the play was the highlight of their elementary school experience.” In retirement, Judy enjoys painting, plays, and of course, her grandchildren.
